Objectives

The collaborative conservation program of Dumaring forest and river (focusing on the riparian buffer) has six objectives to achieve, which are:

● To reduce the direct threats and pressures on forest and riparian buffer

● To improve the quality of forest and riparian buffer

● To promote sustainable use of natural resources and ecosystem services in and/or from forest and riparian buffer

● To develop the community capacity in forest conservation, sustainable use of natural resources and ecosystem services and community enterprise in and/or from forest and riparian buffer

● To gain and maintain key stakeholders support and concrete contribution to the conservation of forest and riparian buffer

● To maximize the benefits of the high quality forest and riparian buffer to achieve the welfare of the communities

Main Outcomes

The six objectives of the collaborative conservation program of Dumaring forest and river (focusing on the riparian buffer) need to be achieved in order to realize six main outcomes are as follows:

● Forest and riparian buffer and their boundaries are well protected and respected by key stakeholders

● Biodiversity value of forest and riparian buffer is enhanced

● Natural resources and ecosystem services of forest and riparian buffer are used sustainably

● Local community is committed, actively involved in, and -in the future- spearhead the conservation and community enterprise development from sustainable use of natural resources and ecosystem services in and/or from forest and riparian buffer

● Key stakeholders support and contribute with their resources to the conservation of forest and riparian buffer

● The welfare of the local community from the sustainable use of natural resources and ecosystem services in and/or from forest and riparian buffer is improved
